OUR PURPOSE
Beyond the Light Project's purpose is changing and shaping lives by bringing sources of electricity to the underserved. The work we do at our nonprofit organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving one of our society’s biggest challenges. We strive to empower affected communities by creating opportunities for individuals and families off the electric grid to have a long-term solution to a problem that affects their daily lives.
A SOLUTION TO THE ELECTRICITY PROBLEM
We've developed a low cost, solar kit that can be easily assembled locally and installed and serviced by local electricians. The features most needed have been identified as light, phone charging, rechargeable flashlight and fan are all connectable through USB ports. The full solution is part of the kit which also includes a roof mounted 25W-100W solar panel, sealed lead acid battery, housing and connectors. These solar kits will be an affordable option for families.
EDUCATE AND TRAIN LOCAL COMMUNITY
Very important to our cause is educating and training local community members on the methods for assembling, installing and servicing our solar kits. By teaching how to build and service these kits, we're empowering our communities to create a long-term solution to this under- served problem.
LEAVE BEHIND METHOD OF SUSTAINABILITY
Our mission is to create a sustainable solution to energy poverty. By bringing a product to market that provides electricity to underserved families, educating and training local teams on the process to build and service solar kits, and developing local assembly sites to manufacture the product, we're leaving behind a sustainable method for addressing the problem and creating much needed jobs for local families.
